We are a small farm
so we try to always keep the number of horses we own to a limited number.
Our mares are either champions , sired by champions,
sister/brothers to champions , and/or have produced champions.
We don't flood the market with our horses
and we stand behind the foals from our breeding program
as well as those that have bred their mares to our stallions.
If there ever comes a time when an owner can no longer keep one of the horses from our breeding program,
we provide free marketing help to sell the horse on our website.
A Cross Timbers Arabian or Pinto is an investment in a quality horse.

With the poor state of the current US economy the average selling price of horses has decreased but the cost of farrier, vet services, hay and grain as well as property taxes, utility and insurance has continued to increase more than 10% each year. .
In this poor economy you can buy horses and foals for a few hundred dollars. Just like "puppy mills" can offer puppies at prices far lower than what a quality respectable show breeder can do. With a puppy mill type horse breeder, you often get what you pay for and perpetuate a state of raising horses in that manner. No one is going to breed a horse on purpose so that they can sell the foal for less than the cost of the feed, care and training that it took to produce the foal.
All horses are not created equal, just like all car brands are not all of the same quality. You would not go to a Mercedes dealership and tell them that you can buy a Yugo down the road for a few thousand dollars and than ask why their car is so much more expensive. If you cannot understand this concept, than you need to go to Craigslist to shop. Just look in the farm and garden section, you will find people selling horses for a few hundred dollars or the BLM offers wild mustangs for adoption for a small fee. For people that are big on heart but short on cash, there are also rescue organizations that adopt horses out for small fees. Please be aware, the reason why a lot of horses get in a rescue situation is because someone had a big heart and had an unexpected life crisis that caused them to run out of money needed to feed and take care of theiir horses! If you are short on cash, you really should not be buying a horse.
We are cutting down on the number of horses we are breeding each year because it is expensive, very time consuming and very hard work to personally work with every foal on a regular basis which results in our well known "people loving", "easy to train" versatile champion winning horses. All work and no play is no fun, so we want to make time to ride the trails with our beautiful mares and go to a few shows with our own horses.
We will also be helping to market some of our friends quality Paint, Pinto and Arabian horses that they are needing to find homes for here on our website.
Custom Breed your own special foal from our Champion producing mares and stallions!
We breed the mare and care for her during her pregnancy here at our farm.
You are responsible for regular board payments for the mare during her pregnancy and care of her foal; any vet and farrier costs for the mare and resulting foal- until the foal is weaned and you pick the foal .
Email us for more details.

The Pinto Arabian Types
Pinto Arabians come in 4 different body styles:
Stock Type
Khiowa Painted Shai CTA is a beautiful example of the stock type Paint Arabian cross. He is Half American Paint Horse which is a stock type horse originating from American Quarterhorse bloodlines blended with a Purebred Arabian mare. He represents the ideal Quarab with his beautiful head, large expressive eye, combined with the muscle and substance of the American Quarterhorse. These horses can excel in most any class that an American Quarterhorse would be shown in; such as working cow, reining, and western pleasure but you will also see allot of these crosses competing in Competitive Trail Classes and Endurance. Their size, temperament and movement tend to look very similar to American Quarterhorses.
|
Hunter Type
Kachina Sky Bars CTA is an example of a Hunter type of horse that would be used for Sport horse disciplines such as Dressage, Hunter or Jumping. She has the long legs, extra size and body type that are similar to the traditional Warmbloods that excel in these type of riding disciplines. An Arabian cross hunter type can excel at even the highest open levels of competition as Teddy O'Conner proved by being selected to be a part of the Olympic Team. Their size tends to be larger than the typical Arabian horse with the body type looking similar to Warmbloods.
|
Saddle Type
Sugar N Spice CTA represents an ideal Saddle type Half Arabian cross. She looks like a beautiful Saddlebred. She was a unanimous World Champion in 2005 for PtHA Saddletype Mare. She demonstrates the long legs and neck, lovely gaits of the American Saddlebred with the Arabian adding some refinement to the head. These type of horses can excel at a variety of English Performance disciplines as well as doing well on the trail and in endurance. Their size tends to be larger/taller than the typical purebred Arabian.
|
Pleasure Type
Custom Taylored CTA is a beautiful representative of the Pleasure Horse type. He looks like a National Quality Purebred Arabian and even without the spots, you would not be able to mistake him for anything else but Arabian in the head, body and tail. This type of Pinto horse when of high quality will have the refinement, head, body type, movement, temperament and tail carriage of the best purebred Arabian horses.

We are often asked how much a foal will usually sell for, if sold as a weanling:
Bay Tri-Color Tobiano Pinto Half-Arabian Fillies range from: ($5000 to $7500)
Black and White Tobiano Pinto Half-Arabian Fillies range from ( $5000 to $15,000)
Black and White or Bay Tri-Color Pinto Half-Arabian Colts range from: ($3500 to $8500)
High Percentage, 99% Arabian Pintabian tobiano foals range from:($7,500 to $150,000)
Solid Color - No Tobiano Pattern - 98% or 99+% Arabian Pinto bred Colts or Fillies : ($500-$2500)
Homozygous Tobiano Pinto Arabian cross foals: ($2500 - $150,000)
Homozygous black purebred Arabian Foals: ($4500-$15,000)
Purebred Bay, Chestnut, Grey Arabian Foals: ( $2500-$9500)
High Percentage Arabian, Pintabian producers are priced higher than 50% Arabian foals.
It takes over 6 generations of breeding to get a 99% Arabian foal. Since 1 parent must always be a purebred Arabian, there is only a 50% chance of getting a tobiano foal each time we try to breed for a Pintabian producer. It is hard and rare to get a quality tobiano Pinto Arabian with championship breeding close-up that is going to have any size over 15H as well as retaining the beautiful Arabian look in a high percentage Arabian cross. Therefore, the price of Pintabian producers is higher to reflect the rarer occurrence of having one available for sale.
Note: Prices tend to go up, as the foal matures.
Please note: we will not knowingly sell a foal to a first-time horse owner unless the foal is placed with a horse trainer.
It can be expensive to own and care for a horse. Boarding and/or training fees are usually over $400 a month.
Yearly veterinary vaccinations can average over $150 per horse for 1 series of shots. Foals will require 2-3 series of
shots in their 1st year. A quality foal is not a bargain buy, but is an investment in the future of a great performance/show horse. If price is the primary consideration for the purchase of a horse and you just want a nice horse to ride, please consider buying a horse from one of the local horse rescue groups or consider giving a retired horse a great forever home. Many older horses with good care can live well into their late twenties and thirties. If you are looking for an Arabian that is already under saddle to ride on the trails for around $3500, we recommend you take a look at Spirit of Texas Arabians sales page.
